"As a former member now relocated back to the
USA, I enjoyed seeing your website and have already passed the link
on to my husband's co-worker who is relocating. It was fun to see
the photos and remember how much fun I had. Newcomers to Chester
was a lifeline for me. Thanks for being there. I had a reunion at
my home a few months ago with two other Newcomers who became my
friends there. Although we have all been back to the States for
3-5 years and we are widely spread out (Arizona, Kentucky and New
Jersey), we have kept in touch by email and phone. Getting together
again after five years was a real treat and we picked up right where
we left off. Wishing you continued success". "The website looks great! I sent the address
to friends and relatives. Wonderful job! All of you can be proud
of the job you are doing with that and making lives easier for us
other newcomers, even if for a short time, like me. Newcomers to
Chester very much enriched my stay. Feel bad that I wasn't there
long enough to give back in some way" “Just a few
years ago, I found myself relocated from the USA to Chester. My
husband became very busy with his new job and my children with their
new schools. That would have been about the time when I could have
drowned myself in “homesickness”. Instead, I was greeted by the
warmth of a NTC member and was whisked away to my first NTC coffee
morning. By the end of that Meeting, I had met many welcoming members,
all who once were in my situation, learnt much about Chester and
left with a diary full of dates for the month’s events. NTC became
my “lifeline” to Chester and many friendships”. “ I was
picked-up from the hotel to attend a NTC coffee morning during a
pre-visit to Chester. Besides meeting up with lots of very nice
people, was also asked to volunteer in the NTC committee, which
I very happily accepted. Having all this in place a couple of months
prior to arrival in Chester was very heartwarming, as it means not
arriving “stone-cold”. Looking around for interaction
opportunities, I definitely can say that NTC is the only group in
the Chester area with a diverse lot of people of differing ages,
nationalities and interests in which one can find a friend, if not
many friends. I would have found it hard to live here without NTC
support”. “Thank
you to all the friends I have made at Newcomers to Chester over the
past four years. Newcomers is a lifeline for people new to the area
as there are many activities arranged for us, including husbands/partners,
and children too. In fact by joining Newcomers, you meet people from
all over the world. I now have friends I have visited in Philadelphia
and Singapore, plus soon to visit Phoenix on my return to New Zealand
next month. It is a great group to be involved with, and by joining
the committee as I did, you get even more interested in what is going
on”. |
